IN DEVELOPMENT — NO PUBLIC RELEASE YET

NO RELEASE WATTSOEVER.
YET.

Wattsoever is in active development — this site went live ahead of the first installers. Once the first version is tagged, downloads for all three platforms land right here: free, no account, built automatically from tagged source on GitHub's build machines.

WINDOWS

WINDOWS 10 / 11 — 64-BIT — NO ADMIN RIGHTS
WATTSOEVER-SETUP.EXEWITH THE FIRST RELEASE

Run the per-user installer, done — it adds a Start-menu entry and an uninstaller. On Windows 10 the required WebView2 runtime is fetched automatically; Windows 11 already ships it.

SmartScreen shows an “unknown publisher” warning — expected for now.

MACOS

APPLE SILICON (M1 OR NEWER) — DMG
WATTSOEVER-MACOS-ARM64.DMGWITH THE FIRST RELEASE

Open the DMG and drag Wattsoever to Applications. On first launch, allow Bluetooth access — that's how the app talks to your trainer.

First start needs one extra step on unsigned builds. Intel Macs are not supported yet.

LINUX

UBUNTU 22.04+ — AMD64 — BLUEZ ≥ 5.55
WATTSOEVER_AMD64.DEBWITH THE FIRST RELEASE

Install with sudo apt install ./wattsoever_amd64.deb — apt pulls the GTK/WebKitGTK dependencies automatically.

Other distributions may work but aren't tested. See Linux notes.

WHEN THEY DO: DOWNLOAD ONLY FROM WATTSOEVER.CC — THERE IS NO OTHER OFFICIAL SOURCE. — LICENSE AGREEMENT
INSTALL WARNINGS, EXPLAINED

THE BUILDS ARE NOT CODE-SIGNED YET.
YOUR OS WILL WARN YOU ONCE. HERE'S WHAT TO CLICK.

Code-signing certificates cost money and are planned for a later stage, so Windows and macOS show a one-time warning about an unknown publisher. If a warning names anything other than an unknown/unverified publisher, stop and re-download from wattsoever.cc.

WINDOWS — SMARTSCREEN

“WINDOWS PROTECTED YOUR PC”

  1. Click More info
  2. Click Run anyway

The warning appears once per downloaded file. The installer itself never asks for admin rights.

MACOS — GATEKEEPER

“WATTSOEVER CANNOT BE OPENED”

  1. Up to macOS 14: right-click the app → Open → Open
  2. macOS 15+: open the app once, then System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway

Needed exactly once. Also grant the Bluetooth permission when asked — without it the trainer scan finds nothing.

LINUX — BLUETOOTH ACCESS

SCAN FINDS NO DEVICES

  1. Check BlueZ: bluetoothctl --version ≥ 5.55
  2. Add yourself to the group: sudo usermod -aG bluetooth $USER, then log out and back in

No signature issues on Linux — the .deb installs like any local package.

ON EVERY PLATFORM

Never pair the trainer at OS level (Bluetooth settings). Wattsoever connects directly — OS pairing is the most common reason the trainer isn't found.

UPDATES

Download and run the new installer — it replaces the old version, your profiles and rides stay untouched. An in-app update check is planned.

UNINSTALL

Windows: Settings → Apps; macOS: drag the app to Trash; Ubuntu: sudo apt remove wattsoever. Your ride data stays on disk until you delete it.

LICENSE

On first start the app asks you to accept its license agreement: free personal use, training safety, your data and the online services some views use.

NEXT STEPS

Installed? The docs walk you through connecting your trainer and riding your first workout or route.
